we helped Happy Money reach millions of people on Social //

It’s a common topic that we discuss how to master B2B marketing. We don’t often get to share how we help our clients achieve their B2B marketing goals. Today we share the story of Happy Money’s social transformation, which saw them increase their reach by millions and build a stronger online community. We also share our top tips to help you get it done. )

The Client

Happy Money is a financial company which develops and delivers financial tools and services that are affordable and accessible that enable people to use money for happiness. Fun fact: A C5er had used their tools before they approached us to pay off a loan. We knew that their brand was legitimate.

The Challenge

Happy Money’s success is dependent on being different from the rest, especially on social media. They wanted a partner that could quickly learn their brand and create unique content on social media. To do this, they asked our team for help. We also brought fresh ideas to engage their growing community.

How We Approached It

Strong brand storytelling and consistent quality content are the foundation of a successful social strategy. However, this requires the right planning and production skills.

Happy Money wanted to show their expertise and grow their readership. We started by creating a monthly editorial calendar that focused on key financial education topics and financial wellness topics. While thought leadership is important, curating engaging and interesting content that is relevant to your expertise is the key to great social media. Happy Money was a combination of financial tips, education tidbits and humor that we felt would bring the best value to the brand and reflect the brand’s personality. We wanted to position the brand as a friendly and helpful financial resource that felt fun and relatable–distinctly different than the competition.

To bring this content to life we had to refine Happy Money’s brand guidelines and create a cohesive visual language to grab attention (aka stop scrolling) and resonate with our target audience.

We were inspired by the brand’s name and worked hard to bring joy and excitement to the visual branding using bright, bold colors. These colors not only make Happy Money stand out from other fintech brands that use more muted colors, but they also help to distinguish them from others. We also used more playful typography, illustration, and illustration. This allowed for more freedom in design but still maintained a sense of cohesiveness. These guidelines allowed us to create content that tells the brand story while maintaining the brand’s integrity.

We established a consistent publishing schedule to ensure Happy Money produces engaging, on-brand content. We then optimized their production process and scaled production. We worked in sprints over several months to produce the right volume and a variety dynamic content formats to create a rich, healthy grid. The brand has several animated video series including Dr. If Your CC Could Talk and If Your CC Could Type, which is something it had never done before. Dunn Budget Tips. )

The key to success was to shift from a two week production calendar to a monthly one. This allows for thoughtful brainstorming at least two months ahead and allows us to set up accurate timelines to accommodate all the content (e.g. static and video). This well-oiled machine has allowed us to significantly increase the amount of content we create, filling Happy Money’s timeline with engaging content that keeps it top of mind.

The Results

This has allowed Happy Money to transform their social media presence from reactive to proactive. It allows them to create a richer content ecosystem (thanks to new formats such as video), offers more value to their audiences, and hits key metrics.

This approach was a great success, with impressive results in the first month.

  • 96% increase in IG impressions
  • 6.9 Million impressions on Facebook
  • Increase of 19% in Twitter engagements

Over the past few months, we have seen ongoing improvements including:

  • Increase in Instagram impressions by 54%; Facebook increase of 15%
  • Engagement on Facebook has increased by 36%; Instagram has seen a 10% increase.

We are grateful beyond these amazing results that we were able to help the Happy Money team overhaul their production process, one piece at a time. We work best when we have a partner who is happy and collaborative. Happy Money was that partner.
