GPT3 has returned to the news because it is getting better and better. You can ask the chat a variety of questions. (Write a 1,000-word essay on Clara Barton). It feels almost like something a high school student would have written.
This changes things.
This means that it is much easier to create mediocre material than ever before. A bad Seinfeld script can be written in just six minutes.
This means that rudimentary essays at school and average copywriting at work are now wastes of time.
It reminds us, however, that trust and attention don’t scale.
Don’t interrupt anyone if your work isn’t more valuable, insightful, or urgent than GPT creates in 12 seconds.
Technology makes old work easier. But then, it demands that the new work be more effective.
