This page was intentionally left blank is a long tradition.
I thought this was a 1960s IBM thing, but I was wrong by at least a thousand years.
There are many reasons why a page should be left blank. There are many reasons for a page to be blank.
There are better reasons for letting people know that you did this on purpose. This is especially true in loosely-bound books or technical manuals. Knowing that a page doesn’t have anything on it, removes the stress of the reader and gives them confidence that the text has been completed.
It’s easy to overlook the fact that we can leave blank spaces. We’re always rushing to fill every moment in with swipes, clicks and surfing. Not only is it allowed, but it’s also required if you want to live well.
It’s even easier to admit (to ourselves, and maybe others) that you did it deliberately.
