Lisa DeSantis Adams, with more than 25 years’ experience in asset-based lending environments at both banks and non-banks, brings a wealth diverse experience to the business development team. Lisa DeSantis Adams shares her views on what makes Gibraltar unique in the market today, as well as what she considers to be Gibraltar’s most unique value propositions in this challenging economic climate.
Why did you join the Gibraltar Business Capital Team?
I began my career in 1997 in asset-based loans (ABL), and I will join Gibraltar as a SVP and Business Developer covering the West Region in September 2022. I have worked in the financial industry for over 25 years, both at non-bank and bank companies. The Gibraltar team attracted me because of their company culture, and also for their flexible and reliable lending approach. Scott and his leadership team have created a strong lending platform and company culture.
In the current market, it’s a good time to work for a non-bank ABL. You can differentiate yourself. Gibraltar can create financing structures to support the goals of our clients, without any limitations. Because we’re not directly competing, I can still work with former banking colleagues. Gibraltar is able to work with banks in order to provide debt, while still allowing them to offer other services like treasury.
Tell us about something that you did recently in Gibraltar for which you are proud.
Gibraltar continues to expand its financing capabilities, and innovates in order to better serve our customers. Now, we offer financing ranging from $5 million up to $100 million. It is my job to inform the market about our new value proposition, and how we are now able to serve more businesses. It’s an exciting time to deliver this message. As many banks tighten their credit standards, borrowers of companies and sponsors of financial institutions are turning to non-bank asset based lenders for financing. It’s been a pleasure to share our news about product expansion and our vision for the future with our partner communities.
In your opinion, what makes GBC unique?
Gibraltar’s value proposition is different from that of banks. We can provide greater liquidity to businesses that are in need, especially in the current economic climate, without imposing excessive costs on them.
It’s great to know that our team is capable of bringing something to the table, whether it’s an acquisition, merger or turnaround, a company experiencing rapid expansion, and giving businesses the space they need to grow. Gibraltar has new opportunities due to the current economic climate. With a great team, we’re really positioned to do a lot of work for our partners.
What do you like to do outside of your work?
My husband and I live in Portland, Oregon. We enjoy running, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding. It’s also a lot fun to foster dogs. We are also looking forward taking vacations this summer together before my son leaves for college.
