The alphabet is only one. 26 letters, no more. Just one order.
The Beatles are yet another. John, Paul George, and Then Ringo. The Marx Brothers, The Three Stooges and The Supremes.
It’s hard to find a set that has more than twelve.
The list doesn’t end when we talk about stars, trees, or colors. The same goes for species or anatomy. It’s never enough. It’s hard to remember the order of saints, countries or US states.
The Great Lakes have five and the planets eight. Where can we find a list with 30 to 100 items? It’s not fair to choose something that is in Latin or involves advanced math.
It must be a human or cultural limitation that prevents us from wanting to know this kind of set.
This is not part of our normal programming but I would love to hear your best take on it. Here is a simple . I will publish some of the winning entries.
