It’s not uncommon to have to choose between the cultural dictates of one group and the fact-based approach. Which would you think most people choose?
What would you pick?
We rely on a commonality that we all share when we use a testable method to determine what works. Cultural connection, peer-pressure and the power and affiliation of status and affiliation often short circuit that analysis.
It is not always the best idea to argue about facts.
If the analysis can be tested, are you willing to accept an alternative that works?
NASA engineers, physicians, politicians, and even households are more likely than we would expect to have to answer this question with a “no”.
Maybe culture is not something we haphazardly slap on top of rational analysis. It could be the opposite.
