2 x4 lessons
Two 8-foot boards are needed, as well as six 5-gallon buckets. Each board measures 2 x 4 standard, or about two by four inches. The bucket is approximately two feet in depth.
The first lesson can be taught by putting the board down on the floor, and having a friend walk from end to end.
Try again.
The fear should be understood to be a figment of the imagination. We are not usually afraid to walk on a board nearly four inches in width. The buckets, however, change the way we think about risk.
Second lesson: Place the first board on the floor, and then place a second board next to it.
Have a second co-worker walk on the board, while your first colleague walks on theirs. It is possible, but awkward.
Repeat the exercise, but this time have them walk together. Hand-to-hand, in the same general direction. Try it next with buckets.
Together, we can achieve much more.
