clamp and mallet
When I was building a project, a critical part of the project was stuck.
I started by tapping it, then I got more aggressive and finally I hit it. No luck.
I then got smarter and placed three clamps on the part. Gently turning each one as the pressure increased, it popped right out.
The use of gentle, persistent pressure is almost always superior to sudden, violent blows.
