There are many things we agree on. Because they are dependent on shared realities, productive arguments are rare. Arguments are rare because they allow people engage around ideas without having to resort to external forces or authorities to resolve them.
Arguments that rely on facts that aren’t supported by evidence might be invalid. Your argument might be flawed if you claim that X happened but it didn’t.
The argument may be flawed, because even X is true, it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter, because in reality, logic of this argument isn’t valid, X or not X.
Oder the argument might be weak because the words are not specific and can change meaning as you move.
It is possible to share feelings. Let us know by all means. Arguments can’t be argued. They are distinct. Arguments are based on logic, evidence, and specificity that allow us to understand how things work and make them better.
It is better to express our feelings than pretend to have an argument.
