Everywhere we turn, they’re there. Here are some thoughts about the ones that will not go away.
Is it a situation or a problem? By definition, problems have solutions. Problems have solutions, even if you don’t like the price, the trade-offs, or the effort.
Situations, on the other hand do not. Situations are just things that we have to deal with.
When we understand that the problem we are facing is not a real problem, but a situation instead, it becomes easier to thrive and move forward. It’s not good to focus on a problem.
Has anyone ever successfully solved a similar problem? It could be a different situation. Question one.
Third, if you have been dealing with the problem for some time, it may not be a simple issue. These problems tend to be solved quickly. You may have a problem which requires more work or sacrifices than you expected. We can reset our expectations of what a solution might require and re-calibrate the situation to one we are willing to accept, just because it is expensive.
Finally, some issues get better when we talk about them. When we put our community and energy into certain situations, they can get worse.
