A divo or diva is an opera singer who has skill. Sometimes though, this skill is accompanied by imperiousness, skepticism, and an unpredictable amount of drama.
It is tempting to think that CEOs, poets or painters who make a lot of noise must have a certain level of skill.
But burning your guitar doesn’t make you Jimi Hendrix.
Some film directors have breakdowns, go over their budgets and fuel the creative work of their films with feuds. Then there are those who do excellent work. That’s it. Just great work.
We’re better off focusing on the skills part. Media loves drama, but co-workers and clients don’t.
I’ve never seen “low drama”, listed under skills on a resume, but that could be a valuable attribute.
